Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 188927  Size: SH
  1. Remove the upper radiator shroud from the radiator. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  2. Remove the drive belt from the vehicle. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 391682  Size: SH
  4. Remove the air conditioning idler pulley (for those vehicles not equipped with A/C).
  5. Remove the drive belt idler pulley and bolt.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 188927  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the drive belt idler pulley to the mounting bracket.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 50N·m (37 lb ft).

  3. Install the A/C idler pulley (for those vehicles not equipped with A/C).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 83N·m (61 lb ft).

  5. Install the drive belt to the vehicle. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  6. Install the upper radiator shroud to the radiator. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement in Engine Cooling.
