Has the Defogger System Check been performed?

  1. Disconnect the rear window defogger grid connector.
  2. Connect a test lamp from cavity A of the grid connector to ground.
  3. Place ignition in the RUN position.
  4. Depress the rear defogger switch.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 3

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect C222 from convenience center.
  2. Connect a test lamp from cavity D9 of the convenience center to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 5

Locate and repair open in CKT 293 (PPL) between C222 and the rear window defogger grid connector. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Defogger System Check

  1. Disconnect the HVAC control module connector C1.
  2. Connect a test lamp between cavity D of HVAC the control module and ground.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 7

Locate and repair open in CKT 293 (PPL) between the HVAC control module connector and the convenience center. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Defogger System Check

Connect a test lamp between cavity A of the HVAC control module connector C1 and ground.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 9

Replace the HVAC control module.

Locate and repair open in CKT 1440 (ORN) between the HVAC control module connector C1 and the underhood fuse block. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
