Door Latch Replacement Cargo Lower

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement.
  2. Remove the water deflector, as necessary. Refer to Inner Panel Water Deflector Replacement.
  3. Remove the access hole cover, as necessary.

  4. Object Number: 277861  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the control rod (2) from the latch.

  6. Object Number: 277862  Size: SH
  7. Remove the control latch bolts.
  8. Remove the spacer (2).

  9. Remove the control latch from the door.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 277862  Size: SH
  1. Install the control latch to the door.
  2. Install the control latch spacer (2).
  3. Install the bolts.

  4. Connect the control rod (2) to the latch.
  5. Install the access hole cover, as necessary.
  6. Install the water deflector, as necessary. Refer to Inner Panel Water Deflector Replacement.
  7. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement.

Door Latch Replacement Cargo Upper

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement.
  2. Remove the water deflector, as necessary. Refer to Inner Panel Water Deflector Replacement.
  3. Remove the access hole cover, as necessary.

  4. Object Number: 277863  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the control rod (1) from the latch.

  6. Object Number: 277864  Size: SH
  7. Remove the latch cover screw.
  8. Remove the latch cover.

  9. Object Number: 277865  Size: SH
  10. Remove the latch bolts.
  11. Remove the latch from the door.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 277865  Size: SH
  1. Install the latch to the door.
  2. Install the latch bolts.

  3. Object Number: 277863  Size: SH
  4. Connect the control rod (1) to the latch.
  5. Install the access hole cover, as necessary.
  6. Install the water deflector, as necessary. Refer to Inner Panel Water Deflector Replacement.
  7. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement.

Door Latch Replacement Upper

Removal Procedure

Remove the latch assembly bolts.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 277798  Size: LH
  1. Start by hand the front latch assembly bolts in order to engage the net hole locator.
  2. Start by hand the rear latch assembly bolts in order to engage the net hole locator.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Adjust the latch assembly.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

Door Latch Replacement Lower

Removal Procedure

  1. Note the alignment of the door latch by completing the appropriate step:
  2. • Use the striker as an alignment guide.
    • If the striker has been removed, mark the location of the door latch.
  3. Remove the latch assembly bolts.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the latch assembly bolts.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure.
