Engine Flywheel Replacement Manual Transmission

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement in Transmissions/Transaxles.
  2. Remove the clutch assembly. Refer to Clutch Assembly Replacement in Clutch.
  3. Remove the bolts and the flywheel.
  4. Clean and inspect all parts. Refer to Engine Flywheel Clean and Inspect .

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 64987  Size: SH
  1. Install the engine flywheel to the crankshaft.
  2. Align the locator hole to the pin.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the engine flywheel bolts.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the engine flywheel bolts in sequence to 100 N·m (74 lb ft).

  6. Install the clutch assembly. Refer to Clutch Assembly Replacement in Clutch.
  7. Install the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement in Transmissions/Transaxles.

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement or Transmission Replacement in Transmission/Transaxles.
  2. Remove the flywheel bolts and the flywheel.
  3. Clean and inspect all parts. Refer to Engine Flywheel Clean and Inspect .
