OIL LEAK TRANSFER CASE/O RING SERVICE PROCEDURE

MODELS: 1982-83 LIGHT DUTY FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE MODELS WITH THM 700-R4 TRANSMISSIONS AND 207 TRANSFER CASES

Some 1982 and 1983 THM 700-R4 transmissions may exhibit an oil leak at the transmission case to transfer case adapter area on some vehicles. This oil leak may be caused by a lack of compression of the "O" ring seal used on the transfer case adapter.

When servicing any 1982 and 1983 four-wheel drive vehicle equipped with a THM 700-R4 transmission for an oil leak at the transmission to transfer case adapter area, install "O" ring, P/N 15590103, on the transfer case adapter to correct the oil leak.
