UPPER SIDE DOOR HINGE TORQUE ROD REPLACEMENT

THE SUBJECT TORQUE ROD CAN BE REPLACED AS OUTLINED BELOW. 1. REMOVE DOOR HINGE AS SHOWN ON PAGE 2D-11 SECTION 2D, OF THE 1983 LIGHT DUTY TRUCK SHOP MANUAL (ST330-83). 2. PLACE DOOR HINGE IN A VISE AND INSERT SMOOTH END OF TORQUE ROD IN HINGE CUT OUT AS SHOWN ON FIG. . 3. USING A SUITABLE TOOL, MOVE TOP (NOTCH) END OF TORQUE ROD TO ENGAGE UPPER HINGE TAB. 4. USING A HAMMER, TAP TORQUE ROD DOWN UNTIL NOTCH IN TORQUE ROD ENGAGES TAB IN THE HINGE. 5. INSTALL HINGE TO DOOR AND HINGE PILLAR AND MAKE ADJUSTMENTS AS DESCRIBED ON PAGE 2D-10 OF THE SHOP MANUAL.
