HARSH 2-1 DOWNSHIFT DELAYED DOWNSHIFT INFORMATION

STARTING MARCH 25, 1983, (JULIAN DATE 084), ALL THM 700-R4 TRANSMISSIONS WERE BUILT USING A NEW CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY AND SPACER PLATE TO CORRECT A HARSH MANUAL 2-1 DOWNSHIFT FEEL AND/OR DELAYED DOWNSHIFT CONDITION. WHEN SERVICING ANY 1982 OR 1983 THM 700-R4 TRANSMISSION FOR A HARSH MANUAL 2-1 DOWNSHIFT FEEL AND/OR DELAYED DOWNSHIFT, THE T.V. LIMIT PLUG, GASKET-(SPACER PLATE TO CASE), GASKET-(SPACER PLATE TO VALVE BODY), AND SPACER PLATE, MUST BE REPLACED TO CORRECT THIS CONDITION. (SEE FIGURE #1 FOR INSTALLATION OF THE T.V. LIMIT PLUG.)
