Effective September 1, 1990, the HYDRA-MATIC 4L80-E/4L80-E HD has a toll-free 800 number to enhance our opportunity to successfully launch this transmission and to monitor its quality:

The phone will be manned from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday. The remainder of the time, an answering machine will take the information.

This number is for DEALERS ONLY; your zone dealer code number will be required at the time of the call.

At the time of your call, we ask that the dealership have a complete repair order on hand, as well as the following information:

- Dealer code

- Dealer name

- Contact person

- Phone number

- Labor operation, a description of the condition, and how it was corrected

- Transmission model code and VIN code (Figure 1)

The 800 number is intended to gather valuable information that will enable us to quickly identify and correct those problems which may ultimately affect your customer's satisfaction with the new 4L80-E transmission. The number is NOT intended to provide parts assistance or repair information. Concerns encountered in those areas should continue to be pursued through normal channels such as GMSPO SPAC/PARTAC, the Technical Assistance network or your assigned Dealer Contact Representative.
