SUBJECT: SERVICE MANUAL UPDATE - SECTION 1B "HEATER, VENTILATION, AND AIR CONDITIONING"

MODELS: 1992-94 CHEVROLET AND GMC TRUCK C/K MODELS

THIS BULLETIN UPDATES SECTION 1B "HEATER, VENTILATION, AND AIR CONDITIONING" OF THE 1992-94 C/K TRUCK SERVICE MANUALS. THE CURRENT SERVICE MANUAL INFORMATION HAS BEEN CHANGED TO SHOW THE CORRECT LOCATIONS FOR THE MODE ACTUATOR AND THE TEMPERATURE ACTUATOR.

MODE ACTUATOR

THE MODE ACTUATOR IS LOCATED ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE AIR DISTRIBUTION CASE (FIGURE 1).

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT (FIGURE 2)

1. NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE. REFER TO SECTION 6D. 2. DERM FOR ACCESS. REFER TO SECTION 9J. 3. ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR. 4. SCREWS. 5. ADJUSTER LINKS FROM CONTROL LEVER. 6. MODE ACTUATOR.

ADJUST

1. ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR TO THE ACTUATOR. 2. TURN THE IGNITION KEY TO THE RUN POSITION AND LET THE ACTUATOR POSITION ITSELF. 3. TURN OFF THE IGNITION KEY. 4. REMOVE THE ACTUATOR FROM THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR.

INSTALL OR CONNECT (FIGURE 2)

1. MODE ACTUATOR. 2. SCREWS. 3. ADJUSTER LINKS TO CONTROL LEVER. 4. ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR. 5. DERM. REFER TO SECTION 9J. 6. NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE. * CHECK CIRCUIT OPERATION.

TEMPERATURE ACTUATOR

THE TEMPERATURE ACTUATOR IS LOCATED IN THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT OF THE VEHICLE, ON THE FRONT OF THE HEATER CASE (FIGURE 3).

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT (FIGURE 4)

1. NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE. REFER TO SECTION 6D1. 2. INSTRUMENT PANEL COMPARTMENT. REFER TO SECTION 10A4. 3. ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR. 4. ADJUSTER LINKS FROM CONTROL LEVER. 5. SCREWS. 6. TEMPERATURE ACTUATOR.

ADJUST

1. ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR. 2. TURN THE IGNITION KEY TO THE RUN POSITION AND LET THE ACTUATOR POSITION ITSELF. 3. TURN OFF THE IGNITION KEY. 4. REMOVE THE ACTUATOR FROM THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR.

INSTALL OR CONNECT (FIGURE 4)

1. MODE ACTUATOR. 2. SCREWS. 3. ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR. 4. INSTRUMENT PANEL. REFER TO SECTION 10A4. 5. NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE. * CHECK CIRCUIT OPERATION.
