SOME OF THE 1995 MODEL YEAR VEHICLES HAVE THE SAME PROM SCAN ID AS 1994 VEHICLES. HOWEVER, THE BROADCAST CODE (BCC), POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) AND THE SERVICE PART NUMBERS ARE DIFFERENT FOR EACH MODEL YEAR. A TECHNICIAN WILL NOTICE ON THE TECH 1 SCAN TOOL THAT SOME OF THE 1995 PROM ID'S ARE THE SAME AS 1994 PROM ID'S AND MAY ORDER AN INCORRECT PROM FOR THE 1995 VEHICLE.
THERE WAS A COINCIDENCE IN THE PROM SCAN ID NUMBERING SYSTEM.
THE MODEL YEAR OF A VEHICLE IS IMPORTANT WHEN ORDERING A PROM. DO NOT REPLACE A 1995 PROM WITH A 1994 PROM APPLICATION. USE 1994 PROMS FOR 1994 MODELS.

GENERAL MOTORS BULLETINS ARE INTENDED FOR USE BY PROFESSIONAL TECHNICIANS, NOT A "DO-IT-YOURSELFER". THEY ARE WRITTEN TO INFORM THOSE TECHNICIANS OF CONDITIONS THAT MAY OCCUR ON SOME VEHICLES, OR TO PROVIDE INFORMATION THAT COULD ASSIST IN THE PROPER SERVICE OF A VEHICLE. PROPERLY TRAINED TECHNICIANS HAVE THE EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS AND KNOW-HOW TO DO A JOB PROPERLY AND SAFELY. IF A CONDITION IS DESCRIBED, DO NOT ASSUME THAT THE BULLETIN APPLIES TO YOUR VEHICLE, OR THAT YOUR VEHICLE WILL HAVE THAT CONDITION. SEE A GENERAL MOTORS DEALER SERVICING YOUR BRAND OF GENERAL MOTORS VEHICLE FOR INFORMATION ON WHETHER YOUR VEHICLE MAY BENEFIT FROM THE INFORMATION.
