Steering Column Jacket - Disassemble - Off Vehicle Column Shift

Disassembly Procedure

Tools Required
J 23653-SIR Lock Plate Compressor

  1. Remove the SIR coil assembly. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil Disassemble - Off Vehicle .

    2. Object Number: 357433 Size: SH
  2. Remove the retaining ring using J 23653-SIR .

    3. Object Number: 361737 Size: SH
  3. Remove the shaft lock shield assembly (1).
  4. Remove the turn signal cancel cam assembly (2).
  5. Remove the upper bearing spring (3).
  6. Remove the thrust washer (4)
