Front Fender Replacement Right
Removal Procedure
Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing
any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to
the vehicle or its components.
- Disconnect
the negative battery cable.
- Remove the hood link assembly
from the fender. Refer to
Hood Link Replacement

- Remove the hood. Refer to
Hood Replacement
.
- Remove the radio antenna.
- Remove the wiring inside the fender.
- Remove the air cleaner hose from he fender (7) in the engine compartment.
- Remove the battery and the battery tray.
- Remove the forward air inlet duct assembly from the fender.
- Remove the wiring from the clips.
- Remove the underhood lamp, if equipped.
- Remove the bolts (5) holding the fender to the wheelhouse.
- Remove the bolt (6) holding
the fender to the rocker assembly.
- Open the door.
- Remove the bolts holding the fender to the door hinges.
- Remove the bolt holding the fender to the radiator support (9).
- Remove the fender from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the fender to the vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bolts
holding the fender to the radiator support (6).
Tighten
Tighten the fender bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the bolts and nuts holding the fender to the door hinges.
Tighten
Tighten the fender to the door hinge bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the bolt (6) and
the nut from the fender to the rocker assembly.
Tighten
Tighten the fender to the rocker bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the bolts (6) through the wheelhouse (3) to the fender (4).
- Install the forward air inlet duct assembly to the front section
of the fender in the engine compartment.
- Install the battery tray and the battery.
Tighten
Tighten the tray bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the air cleaner hose to the fender.
- Install the wiring inside the fender.
- Install the radio antenna into the fender.
- Install the wiring into the clips.
- Install the underhood lamp, if equipped.
- Install the hood link assembly. Refer to
Hood Link Replacement
.
- Install the hood hinge to the hood.
Tighten
Tighten the hinge to the hood bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the outboard cowl
grille (1) to the vehicle.
- Install the hood to the vehicle. Refer to
Hood Replacement
.
- Inspect the fender for proper clearance.
- Connect the negative battery cable.

Removal Procedure

- Disconnect
the negative battery cable.
- Remove the link assembly from the fender. Refer to
Hood Link Replacement

- Remove the hood. Refer to
Hood Replacement

- Remove the battery and the battery tray, if equipped.
- Remove the windshield washer reservoir.
- Remove the electrical connector.
- Remove the 4 retaining bolts.
- Remove the 4 washer reservoir bracket bolts from the fender.
- Remove the hood release cable from the clip on the fender.
- Remove the wiring harness from the clips.
- Remove the auxiliary battery relay, if equipped.
- Remove the bolts (5) holding the fender
(4) to the wheelhouse (3).
- Remove the bolt (6) holding
the fender
to the rocker assembly.
- Open the door.
- Remove the bolts (1) holding
the fender to the door hinges.
- Remove the bolts holding the fender to the radiator support (9).
- Remove the fender from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the fender to the vehicle.

- Install the bolts
to the radiator support (12).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Open the door.
- Install the bolts and the nuts holding the fender to the door
hinges.
Tighten
Tighten the fender bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the bolt (6) and
the nut from the fender to the cab assembly.
Tighten
Tighten the fender bolts (6) to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the bolt by reaching up behind the wheelhouse.
- Install the bolts (5) through the wheelhouse to the fender.
- Install the auxiliary battery relay.
- Install the wiring harness into the clip on the fender.
- Install the hood release cable into the clips.
- Install the 4 windshield washer bracket to the fender bolts.
- Install the reservoir to the bracket.
- Install the battery and the tray, if equipped.
- Install the hood link assembly.
- Install the outboard cowl
grille section (1).
- Install the hood to the vehicle. Refer to
Hood Replacement
.
- Inspect the fender for proper clearance.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
