  1. Cycle the park brake switch.
  2. Observe the actuator for movement.

Does the actuator extend normally?

Check the park brake for proper adjustment. Refer to Park Brake Cable Service/Adjustment .

Is adjustment within specifications?

--

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect and remove the park brake linkage travel switch from the actuator.
  2. Connect a J 39200 (DMM) across the park brake linkage travel switch terminals.
  3. Measure the resistance.

Is the resistance more than the stated value?

>1 ohms

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 7

Replace the park brake linkage travel switch. Refer to Park Brake Travel Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

--

Adjust the park brake. Refer to Park Brake Cable Service/Adjustment .

Is adjustment within specifications?

--

System OK

  1. Disconnect the park brake control module connector.
  2. Connect a DMM from the park brake linkage travel switch terminal A to park brake control module terminal A6.
  3. Measure resistance.

Is the resistance less than the stated value?

<5 ohms

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 11

  1. Connect a J 39200 (DMM) from the park brake linkage travel switch terminal B to chassis ground.
  2. Measure resistance.

Is the resistance less than the stated value?

<5 ohms

Go to Step 9

Replace the park brake control module.

Is the repair complete?

Locate and repair the open in CKT 150 (BLK) between the park brake linkage travel switch and S107.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

Locate and repair the open in CKT 1935 (TAN), or CKT 514 (BRN) between the park brake linkage travel switch and the park brake control module.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK
