The 2006 NPR/W Series GMC/Chevrolet has a new design front bumper with an all polypropylene outside covering. The factory has inserted two screw holders, located behind the cover, to hold the license plate and also marked their locations using dimples
in the cover. Refer to the illustration above. The holder has two 5.2 mm (0.20 in) diameter holes; therefore, the correct thread size and location are important. Use the following recommended screw size:
| • | Thread size -- M6 tapping screw |
| • | Screw length -- 15-20 mm (0.59-0.79 in) |
| • | Screw head diameter -- 12 mm (0.47 in) |
Use hand tools only, no power tools and DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
