The S/T trucks use a centered, crossflow, tube type radiator. This assembly utilizes an aluminum core with plastic side tanks, which can be replaced separately. Core repairs are made easily with the hot melt adhesive method. While acting as a cooling fan guard, the shroud is designed to assist, by directing the air flow through the radiator core. The radiator side tanks can be fitted with oil coolers. These have built-in inlet and outlet fittings to allow hot oil to circulate. Vehicles equipped with optional automatic transmissions use a right side mounted cooler. The optional left side cooler is for engine oil . Air-conditioned vehicles use radiators with extra coolaning capacity for greater cooling demands.
