Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the instrument panel.
  2. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.

  3. Remove the lap air outlet, if necessary.

  4. Object Number: 281217  Size: SH
  5. Remove the lap air outlet duct screw.

  6. Object Number: 3479  Size: SH
  7. Remove the lap air outlet duct from the air distributor duct assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 3479  Size: SH
  1. Install the lap air outlet duct to the air distributor duct assembly.

  2. Object Number: 281217  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the lap air outlet screw.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).

  5. Install the lap air outlet, if necessary.
  6. Install the instrument panel.
  7. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.
