Dome Lamp Replacement Pickup

Removal Procedure

On pickup models, the dome lamp is located on the roof panel above the rear glass.

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.

  3. Squeeze the dome lamp lens in order to remove the lens.
  4. Remove the dome lamp bulb.
  5. Remove the screws that retain the dome lamp base to the high mount stop lamp from inside the vehicle.
  6. Remove the dome lamp base from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the dome lamp base to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the screws that retain the dome lamp base to the high mount stop lamp from inside the vehicle.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

  5. Install the dome lamp bulb.
  6. Install the dome lamp lens.
  7. Squeeze the lens in order to engage the tabs.

  8. Install the battery negative cable.

Dome Lamp Replacement Utility

Removal Procedure

On utility vehicles, two different lamps are used. One type of dome lamp is incorporated to the overhead console.

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  2. Object Number: 293765  Size: SH
  3. Hold the lamp assembly firmly with both hands and slide the lamp towards the left or right side of the vehicle in order to remove the dome lamp from the roof.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  5. Remove the dome lamp lens and trim bezel from the lamp base.
  6. Remove the bulb from the lamp base.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the bulb to the lamp base.
  2. Install the dome lamp lens and trim bezel to the lamp base.
  3. Connect the electrical connector.
  4. Align the pins with the holes in the roof and push the lamp up in order to install the dome lamp to the roof.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
