  1. Disconnect the DIC connector.
  2. Connect the J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) from the DIC connector terminal 14 to ground.

Is the voltage within the specified value?

10-14 V

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 4

Repair the following conditions in CKT 40 between the DIC connector terminal 14 and the CTSY LP fuse in the IP fuse block:

    • Opens
    • High resistance
    • A short to ground

Is the repair complete?

Go to Driver Information System Check

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  2. Connect a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) from the DIC connector terminal 7 to ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-14 V

Go to Step 7

Repair the following conditions in CKT 1301 between the DIC connector terminal 7 and the RDO IGN fuse in the IP fuse block:

    • Opens
    • High resistance
    • A short to ground

Is the repair complete?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Measure the resistance from the DIC connector terminal 8 to ground.
  3. Disconnect the DIC.
  4. Backprobe the DIC.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-3 ohms

Go to Step 9

Repair the following conditions in CKT 451 between the DIC connector terminal 8 and G105:

    • Opens
    • High resistance
    • A short to battery voltage

Is the repair complete?

Inspect the DIC connector for a poor connection.

Are the connections OK?

Go to Step 11

Repair the DIC connections as necessary.

Is the repair complete?

Locate and repair the open in CKT 1301 between the driver information display module and the IP fuse block.

Locate and repair the open in CKT 451 between the driver information display module cavity 6 and G105.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the driver information display module. Refer to Driver Information Center Module Replacement .

Locate and repair the short to ground in CKT 1301 between the driver information display module and the IP fuse block.
