Aligning Sheet Metal
Start alignments at the fenders where the fenders meet the front edge of the doors. Work towards the front of the vehicle.
Align the rear edge of the fender to within 4-6 mm (.015-0.23 in). Ensure that the fender is parallel to the door.
Align each side of the fender to within 4-6 mm (0.16-.024 in).
You may need to adjust the front end sheet metal as a unit under the following conditions:
•
It is difficult to center the hood.
•
The hood is out of square.
Adjusting Sheet Metal as a Unit
Loosen the radiator support bolts.
Lightly push the sheet metal into the proper position.
Tighten the radiator support bolts.
