Using the scan tool, inspect for DTCs.

Are any DTCs present?

Go to the Appropriate DTC

Go to Step 3

1. Using the scan tool, perform the IPC Indicator Bulb Check.
2. Turn the indicators ON and OFF.

Do all of the indicators turn ON and OFF properly?

Go to Step 4

Go to Instrument Cluster System Check in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console

Test for voltage at pin B of the generator.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

9-16 V

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

Replace the generator.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Charging System Check

Locate and repair the open in CKT 225 (RED) between the generator and the PCM/VCM.

Is the repair complete?
