Inside Air Temperature Sensor Replacement Roof
Removal Procedure
Caution: This vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause the following conditions:
• | Unnecessary SIR system repairs |
In order to avoid the above conditions, observe the following guidelines:
• | Refer to SIR Component Views in order to determine if you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring. |
• | If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System. |
- Disable the air bag. Refer to
Disabling the SIR System
in SIR.
- Remove the left sunshade. Refer to
Sunroof Sunshade Replacement
in Roof.
- Remove the body lock pillar.
- Remove the left windshield garnish. Refer to
Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement
in Interior Trim.
- Remove the sunroof molding trim, if equipped. Refer to
Sunroof Replacement
in Roof.
- Remove the left rear assist handle. Refer to
Assist Handle Replacement
.
- Remove the upper console.
- Using a flat-bladed tool, gently pry out the air temperature sensor.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the air temperature sensor.
Installation Procedure
- Connect the electrical connector from
the air temperature sensor.
- Install the air temperature sensor.
- Install the upper console.
- Install the left rear assist handle. Refer to
Assist Handle Replacement
.
- Install the sunroof molding trim, if equipped. Refer to
Sunroof Replacement
in Roof.
- Install the left windshield garnish. Refer to
Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement
in Interior Trim.
- Install the body lock pillar.
- Install the left sunshade. Refer to
Sunroof Sunshade Replacement
in Roof.
- Enable the air bag. Refer to
Enabling the SIR System
in SIR.
Inside Air Temperature Sensor Replacement Vent
Removal Procedure
- Remove instrument panel accessory trim plate. Refer to
Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement
in Instrument
Panel, Gauges, and Console.
- Remove the radio. Refer to
Radio Replacement
in Entertainment.
- Disconnect the electrical
connector from the inside air temperature sensor.
- Remove the inside air temperature sensor by turning the sensor
clockwise and pulling out.
Installation Procedure
- Install the inside air
temperature sensor to the vehicle.
- Connect the electrical connector to the inside air temperature
sensor.
- Install the radio. Refer to
Radio Replacement
in Entertainment.
- Install the instrument panel accessory trim plate. Refer to
Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement
in
Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.
Inside Air Temperature Sensor Replacement Floor
Removal Procedure

In order to avoid the above conditions, observe the following guidelines:

• | If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System. |
- Disable the driver side airbag. Refer
to
Disabling the SIR System
in SIR.
- Remove the left IP closeout insulator panel. Refer to
Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side
in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
- Remove the center closeout insulator panel bolt on the left side.
- Pull back the closeout insulator panel in order to access the
temperature sensor.
- Remove the inside air temperature sensor by turning the sensor
counterclockwise from the floor air outlet.
- Disconnect the air temperature sensor harness from the sensor.
Installation Procedure
- Connect the air temperature sensor harness
to the sensor.
- Install the inside air temperature sensor by turning the sensor
clockwise to the floor air outlet.
- Install the center closeout insulator panel bolt on the left side.
- Install the left IP closeout insulator panel. Refer to
Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side
in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
- Enable the driver side airbag. Refer to
Enabling the SIR System
in SIR.
