Use the scan tool in order to read the current body control module (BCM) diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).

Does the scan tool show any DTCs?

Go to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List/Type in Body Control System

  1. Disconnect the headlamp, RH high beam connector.
  2. Move the headlamp switch to the HEAD position.
  3. Move the multifunction switch to the HIGH BEAM position.
  4. Connect a test lamp from headlamp, RH high beam connector terminal A to ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Locate and repair an open in CKT 198 (DK BLU) between the headlamp, RH high beam bulb and the underhood fuse block.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Daytime Running Lights (DRL) System Check

Connect a test lamp from headlamp, RH high beam connector terminal A to terminal B.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

--

Go to Step 7

Locate and repair an open in CKT 524 (PPL) between the headlamp, RH high beam connector and the underhood fuse block.

Is the repair complete?

--

Replace the headlamp, RH high beam bulb.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Move the headlamp switch to the HEAD position.
  2. Move the multifunction switch lever to the HIGH BEAMS position.
  3. Connect a test lamp between ground and each test point on the back of the RT HI fuse in the underhood fuse block.

Does the test lamp illuminate at both test points?

Does the test lamp illuminate at any test point?

Locate and repair a short to ground in CKT 311 (LT GRN/BLK).

Is the repair complete?

Go to Daytime Running Lights (DRL) System Check

  1. Remove the daytime running lamps (DRL) relay.
  2. Connect a fused jumper between cavity 3 and cavity 4 of the DRL relay center.
  3. Move the headlamp switch to the HEAD position.
  4. Move the multifunction switch lever to the HIGH BEAMS position.

Does the right high beam light?

Replace the DRL relay.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Connect a fused jumper between CKT 1193 (LT GRN), cavity 3 at the DRL relay socket and ground.
  2. Move the headlamp switch to the HEAD position.
  3. Move the multifunction switch lever to the HIGH BEAMS position.

Does the right high beam illuminate?

Replace the underhood fuse block.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the right high beam bulb.
  2. Inspect the bulb.

Is the right high beam bulb open?

Replace the right high beam bulb.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Connect a test lamp between CKT 311 (LT GRN/BLK), cavity A at the right high beam connector and ground.
  2. Move the headlamp switch to the HEAD position.
  3. Move the multifunction switch lever to the HIGH BEAMS position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?
