DEFINITION: This test is designed to repair a simultaneous failure of park lamps, tail lamps and side marker lamps.

These lamps all share a common power supply.

Is the PARK LP fuse in the underhood fuse block good?

--

Go to Step 4

  1. Locate and repair short to ground in CKT 240 between the underhood fuse block and the headlamp switch or CKT 74 between the headlamp switch and the under hood fuse block.
  2. Replace the PARK LP fuse in the under hood fuse block.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Exterior Lights System Check

  1. Disconnect the headlamp switch.
  2. Connect a J 39200 DMM from headlamp switch connector terminal B to ground

Does voltage measure the specified value?

Battery Voltage

Go to Step 6

Locate and repair open in CKT 240.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Exterior Lights System Check

Connect a fused jumper between headlamp switch connector terminal A and terminal B.

Do the lamps light?

Go to Step 8

Locate and repair open in CKT 74.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the headlamp switch. Refer to Headlamp Switch Replacement .
