Driver Information Center (DIC) Temperature Display Always Reads SC w/ Trip Computer

Was the Driver Information Center System Check performed?

  1. Disconnect the outside ambient temperature display sensor.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

Does the driver information center (DIC) display SC?

--

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 8

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Connect a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) from the DIC connector terminal 10 to ground.
  3. Disconnect the DIC.
  4. Backprobe the DIC harness connector

Does CKT 735 show a value within the specified range?

0-3 ohms

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

Repair the short to ground in CKT 735 between the DIC connector terminal 10 and the outside ambient temperature display sensor terminal B. Refer to Wiring Repairs

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Driver Information System Check

--

Inspect the DIC connector for a poor connection.

Are the connections OK?

--

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 6

Repair the DIC connections as necessary. Wiring Repairs

Inspect the outside ambient temperature display sensor connector for damage.

Is the connector damaged?
