Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the hood release cable from the latch:
  2. 1.1. Place a screwdriver into the cable clip.
    1.2. Pry the cable clip open in order to remove the cable.
    1.3. Pry the cable housing from the latch.
  3. Remove the primary latch to radiator support bolts.
  4. Remove the primary latch with bracket from the vehicle.

  5. Object Number: 321601  Size: SH
  6. Remove the bracket from the latch.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 321601  Size: SH
  1. Install the bracket to the latch.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the primary latch to bracket bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the primary latch to the bracket bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the primary latch and bracket to the vehicle.
  6. Install the primary latch to radiator support bolts.
  7. Do not tighten the bolts.

  8. Adjust the latch right and left until it lines up with the striker pins in the hood.
  9. Raise the hood and tighten the latch to the radiator support bolts.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the latch to the radiator support bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  11. Use a suitable tool in order to crimp the cable clip and retain the hood release cable to the latch.
