  1. Install the scan tool.
  2. Turn the engine OFF.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

Are any codes present in the BCM?

Inspect the MIR/LKS fuse 7 at the underhood fuse block.

Is the fuse open?

--

Connect a test lamp between the MIR/LKS fuse terminal B6 and terminal C5 in the underhood fuse block.

Do not remove the test lamp until the end of the test.

Does the test lamp light?

--

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
  2. Remove the body relay block connector.
  3. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.

Does the test lamp light?

  1. Repair a short to ground in CKT 840 (ORN) between MIR/LKS fuse 7 and the body relay block.
  2. Reinstall the connector to the body relay block.

Is the repair complete?

With the body relay block disconnected, connect a test lamp between MIR/LKS fuse terminal B6 and terminal F12 (also terminal F10 on utility only) of CKT 840 (ORN) at the body relay block connector.

Does the test lamp light?

Repair short to ground in CKT 840 (ORN).

Press the driver door lock switch.

Does the test lamp light?

Repair the short to ground in CKT 195 (LT BLU).

Disconnect the door unlock relay in the body relay block. Check for open between terminal 4 at the relay and terminal C8 of the body relay block.

Is there an open?

  1. Use a scan tool in order to monitor the state of the door unlock relay feedback CKT 194 (WHT).
  2. Press the driver door unlock switch.

Does the door unlock relay feedback signal change to ON?

Inspect the PWR LKS fuse 14 for an open.

Is the fuse open?

Repair an open in CKT 194 (WHT).

Is the repair complete?

Connect a test lamp between the IP fuse block PWR LKS fuse 14 terminal D4 and terminal E3.

Do not remove the test lamp until the end of the test.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 25

  1. Remove the following relays:
  2. • The left door unlock relay
    • The door lock relay
    • The door unlock relay
  3. Observe the test lamp in order to note if the lamp goes out when each relay was removed.
  4. Replace the relay as needed.

Does the test lamp remain lighted?

Repair the short to ground in CKT 1740 (ORN).

Is the repair complete?

  1. Replace the PWR LKS fuse 14.
  2. Inspect the system.

Is the system operating correctly?

With the body relay block disconnected. Check for short to ground at the body relay block connector in CKT 694 (TAN) terminal E10, CKT 295 (GRY) terminal C9, and CKT 294 (TAN) terminal D8.

Is there a short to ground?

Repair the short to ground in appropriate circuit.
