Removal Procedure
- Remove the sunroof opening trim.
- Begin at the butt joint and pull the trim strip from the sunroof
opening.
- Remove the headliner. Refer to
Headlining Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior Trim:
- Remove the sunroof console mounting bracket. Refer to
Driver Information Center Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
- Remove the straps that retain the wiring harness.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors, as needed.
- Remove the screws that
retain the sunroof motor to the sunroof assembly.
Important: Do not move the sunroof mechanism while the motor is not in place.
- Remove the sunroof motor from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the sunroof motor
to the vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the screws
that retain the sunroof motor to the sunroof assembly.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 3.5 N·m (31 lb in).
- Connect the electrical connectors, as needed.
- Install the straps that retain the wiring harness.
- Install the sunroof console mounting bracket. Refer to
Driver Information Center Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
- Install the headliner. Refer to
Headlining Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior Trim:
- Install the sunroof opening trim.
Begin at the center of the front of the sunroof opening and work around
the perimeter of the opening.
