REAR CAM COVER OIL LEAK IMPROVED SEAL AND COVER

MODELS: 1983-1984 S/T TRUCK WITH L02 (VIN CODE Y) 2.0L L4 ENGINE

1983-84 S/T trucks that are equipped with the 2.0L L4 engine were assembled with a rear camshaft cover that used RTV sealant. A new improved cover and seal have been released to replace the production parts.

If it becomes necessary to replace the rear camshaft cover, it should be replaced with part number 14090972 and gasket part number 14090974. The cover and gasket can also be ordered in a kit, part number 10054590.

The sealing surface must be cleaned, and the main oil gallery plugs should be flush with the block before the cover and gasket are installed. Torque bolts to 8-14 N.m (6-10 lb. ft.)
