The 1992 GMC Truck Typhoon is equipped with a remote keyless entry system. Prior to shipping each Typhoon, a hand-held transmitter is placed in the center console storage compartment. Please be sure to check for the transmitter during predelivery inspection.
Additionally, the operation of the keyless entry system should be explained and demonstrated by the sales representative to the customer. The Typhoon
Owner's Manual Supplement includes information about the remote keyless entry system.
Also required during the predelivery inspection is the installation of the 20-amp electronic level control (ELC) fuse. This fuse will be attached to a tag hanging from the inside rear view mirror. The cavity for the fuse, in the fuse box, is labeled ELC. The fuse was removed to prevent the activation of the ELC System during shipping.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
