WARRANTY ADMINISTRATION
THIS INFORMATION IS PROVIDED TO ASSIST GMC TRUCK DEALERSHIPS IN RESPONDING TO CUSTOMER QUESTIONS REGARDING ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE.
THE FOLLOWING ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE BENEFITS ARE AVAILABLE TO OWNER/OPERATORS OF 1995 LIGHT DUTY RETAIL AND RETAIL LEASE GMC TRUCKS DURING THE 36-MONTH/36,000 MILE NEW VEHICLE WARRANTY. THESE SERVICES WILL BE AUTHORIZED AND ARRANGED BY GMC TRUCK ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE WHEN THE CUSTOMER CALLS. AT THE TIME OF DISPATCH, THE SERVICE PROVIDER WILL RECEIVE AN AUTHORIZATION NUMBER FROM ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. THE CUSTOMER SIGNS THE PROVIDER'S INVOICE. NO FEES ARE CHARGED DIRECTLY TO THE CUSTOMER. THE PROVIDER SUBMITS HIS CLAIM DIRECTLY TO GMC TRUCK ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE.
LOCK OUT - REPLACEMENT KEYS OR LOCKSMITH SERVICE. - DELIVERY OF THE REPLACEMENT KEY WITHIN A 10-MILE LIMIT.
FUEL DELIVERY - DELIVERY OF ENOUGH FUEL FOR THE CUSTOMER TO GET TO THE NEAREST SERVICE STATION (UP TO $4.00).
JUMP START - NO-START SITUATIONS WHICH REQUIRE A BATTERY JUMP START.
FLAT TIRE CHANGE - INSTALLATION OF THE CUSTOMER'S SPARE TIRE WILL BE COVERED AT NO CHARGE. NOTE: THE CUSTOMER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF THE DAMAGED TIRE.
EMERGENCY TOWING SERVICE - TOWING TO THE NEAREST GMC TRUCK DEALER FOR WARRANTY RELATED DISABLEMENTS. - DISPATCH SERVICE FOR NON-WARRANTY DISABLEMENTS FROM A LEGAL ROADWAY (CUSTOMER MAY BE REQUIRED TO PAY FOR SERVICE). NOTE: FINES, TAXES AND IMPOUND FEES ARE NOT TO BE INCLUDED.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE 1-800-GMC-TRUCK 24-HOUR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE NUMBER IS AVAILABLE FOR ALL OWNER/OPERATORS OF ANY MODEL YEAR LIGHT OR MEDIUM DUTY GMC TRUCK FOR OVER-THE- PHONE ASSISTANCE.
CUSTOMER REQUESTS FOR REIMBURSEMENT - SHOULD THE CUSTOMER CONTACT YOUR DEALERSHIP REQUESTING REIMBURSEMENT FOR ROADSIDE SERVICES THAT WERE NOT PRE- AUTHORIZED BY GMC TRUCK ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE, THE CUSTOMER SHOULD BE REFERRED BACK TO ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. - GMC TRUCK ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE WILL DETERMINE IF THE CUSTOMER'S REQUEST IS ELIGIBLE FOR REIMBURSEMENT AND WILL PROVIDE DETAILS TO THE CUSTOMER ON HOW THEY CAN RECEIVE APPROPRIATE DIRECT PAYMENT FROM ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. - CUSTOMERS CAN CONTACT GMC TRUCK ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AT 1- 800-GMC-TRUCK, PROMPT NUMBER 2, OR BY WRITING TO: GMC TRUCK ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE P.O. BOX 9105 BOSTON, MA 02155 ATTENTION: CLAIMS DEPARTMENT
SOME CUSTOMERS WILL OCCASIONALLY CONTACT THEIR DEALERSHIP FOR THESE ROADSIDE SERVICES INSTEAD OF DIRECTLY CONTACTING GMC TRUCK ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. IF A DEALER PERFORMS EMERGENCY ROADSIDE SERVICES, THEY SHOULD:
1. CONTACT GMC TRUCK ROADSIDE FOR AN AUTHORIZATION NUMBER, PREFERABLY PRIOR TO PERFORMING THE SERVICE. 2. IF THE SERVICE HAS ALREADY BEEN PERFORMED, IT IS STILL NECESSARY FOR THE DEALERSHIP TO CONTACT ROADSIDE FOR AN AUTHORIZATION NUMBER. 3. THE DEALERSHIP SHOULD SUBMIT AN INVOICE DIRECTLY TO ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AT THE ADDRESS ABOVE. 4. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE WILL MAKE DIRECT PAYMENT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR AUTHORIZED SERVICES RENDERED.
OVER-THE-PHONE ASSISTANCE IS AVAILABLE FREE OF CHARGE, WITH THE CUSTOMER PAYING FOR THE ACTUAL SERVICE PROVIDED IF NOT COVERED BY THE 1995 ENHANCED ROADSIDE BENEFITS. VEHICLES NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE 1995 ENHANCED BENEFITS INCLUDE:
- NATIONAL FLEET VEHICLES - DAILY RENTAL VEHICLES - DEALER OWNED VEHICLES-IN-SERVICE - INCOMPLETE VEHICLES/P-MODELS
ALL CLAIMS THAT ARE PROCESSED BY ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE WILL BE DISPLAYED ON SERVICENET VEHICLE HISTORY. LABOR OPERATIONS NUMBERS HAVE BEEN ASSIGNED FOR ALL ROADSIDE SERVICES, INCLUDING WARRANTY TOWS, TO BE USED BY GMC TRUCK ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE ONLY. DEALER WARRANTY TOWS SHOULD CONTINUE TO BE SUBMITTED AS SUBLETS, USING THE NET ITEM CODE T.
