- Ensure that the Ambient Light Sensor does not have any obstruction.
- Connect a scan tool.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. Do not start the
engine.
- Using the scan tool, inspect for any DTCs in the Body Control
Module (BCM).

| Using the scan tool, read the Head Lamp Relay Feedback status in the
Body Control Module.
Does the scan tool show the status of ON?

- Move the headlamp switch to the AUTO position.
- Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
- Disconnect the Body Control Module (BCM).
- Move the headlamp switch to the ON position.
- Using the J 35616
, connect a test lamp from terminal A11 of connector C2
at the BCM.
- Does the test lamp illuminate?

- Reconnect the BCM if disconnected in a previous step.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. Do not start the
engine.
- Using the scan tool, read the Ambient Light Sensor voltage in
the the BCM.
- While monitoring the scan tool, cover the Ambient Light Sensor,
then induce a light source to the sensor.
Does the sensor voltage vary within the specified ranges?
