For 1990-2009 cars only
Check the arm tip pressure under the following circumstances:
| • | The wipers skip or chatter. |
| • | You have cleaned the windshield. You have cleaned the wiper elements. |
- Stop the wiper blade in the mid-stroke.
- Attach the tension scale to the wiper attaching pin.
- Lift the arm approximately ½ inch above the glass.
- Note the pressure.
The wiper arm tip pressure must be 7.8-9.5 N (28-34 ounces). If the tip pressure is outside of the specified range, replace the wiper arms. Refer to Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement .
