Did you perform the Power Seats System Check?

  1. Ensure that the motor connector is connected.
  2. Using a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM), backprobe the seat rear height motor connector terminal A (CKT 282) to ground.
  3. Operate the power seat adjuster switch to the REAR UP position.

Is voltage present?

  1. Ensure that the motor connector remains connected.
  2. Using the J 39200 DMM, backprobe the seat rear height motor connector terminal B (CKT 283) to ground.
  3. Operate the power seat adjuster switch to the REAR DOWN position.

Is voltage present?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 6

Replace the seat rear height motor.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Access the driver side power seat adjuster switch.
  2. Using the J 39200 DMM, backprobe the terminal connected to CKT 282 (YEL) to ground.
  3. Operate the power seat adjuster switch to the REAR UP position.

Is voltage present?

Go to Step 7

  1. Access the driver side power seat adjuster switch.
  2. Using the J 39200 DMM, backprobe the terminal connected to CKT 283 (LT BLU) to ground.
  3. Operate the power seat adjuster switch to the REAR DOWN position.

Is voltage present?

Locate and repair the open or high resistance in CKT 282 between the power seat adjuster switch and the seat rear height motor.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Power Seats System Check

Locate and repair the open or high resistance in CKT 283 between the power seat adjuster switch and the seat rear height motor.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Power Seats System Check

Replace the power seat adjuster switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement .
