Use the scan tool in order to read the current body control module (BCM) diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).

Does the scan tool show any DTCs?

  1. Disconnect the right high beam headlamp connector.
  2. Move the headlamp switch to the HEAD position.
  3. Move the multifunction switch to the HIGH BEAM position.
  4. Connect a test lamp from the headlamp, LH high beam connector terminal A to ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Connect a test lamp from the headlamp, LH high beam connector terminal A to terminal B.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 6

Locate and repair the open in CKT 524 (PPL) between the headlamp, LH high beam connector and the underhood fuse block.

Is the repair complete?

--

Replace the headlamp high beam bulb.

Is the repair complete?

Connect a test lamp from DRL relay pin 3 to ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Replace the DRL relay.

Locate and repair the open in CKT 711 (DK GRN/WHT) between the underhood fuse block and the headlamp LH high beam bulb.

  1. Move the headlamp switch to the HEAD position.
  2. Move the multifunction switch lever to the HIGH BEAMS position.
  3. Connect a test lamp between ground and each test point on the back of the LT HI fuse in the underhood fuse block.

Does the test lamp illuminate at both of the test points?

Locate and repair a short to ground in CKT 711 (LT GRN/BLK).

Is the repair complete?

Replace the underhood fuse block.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the left high beam bulb.
  2. Inspect the bulb.

Is the left high beam bulb open?

Replace the left high beam bulb.

  1. Connect a test lamp between CKT 711 (DK GRN/WHT), cavity A at the left high beam connector and ground.
  2. Move the headlamp switch to the HEAD position.
  3. Move the multifunction switch lever to the HIGH BEAMS position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Locate and repair the open in CKT 711 (DK GRN/WHT).
