Removal Procedure
Caution: This vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause the following conditions:
• | Unnecessary SIR system repairs |
In order to avoid the above conditions, observe the following guidelines:
• | Refer to SIR Component Views in order to determine if you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring. |
• | If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System. |
- Disable
the driver side airbag. Refer to
Disabling the SIR System
in SIR.
- Remove the left IP closeout insulator panel. Refer to
Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side
in
Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
- Remove the center closeout insulator panel bolt on the left side.
- Pull back the closeout insulator panel in order to access the
temperature sensor.
- Remove the lower air temperature sensor by turning the sensor
counterclockwise from the floor air outlet.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor.
Installation Procedure
- Connect the electrical
connector to the sensor.
- Install the lower air temperature sensor by turning
the sensor clockwise to the floor air outlet.
- Install the center closeout insulator panel bolt on the left side.
- Install the left IP closeout insulator panel. Refer to
Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side
in
Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
- Enable the driver side airbag. Refer to
Enabling the SIR System
in SIR.
