Verify that the driver information display module Temperature display is inaccurate.

Does the driver information system operate normally?

  1. Disconnect the ambient air temperature sensor connector.
  2. Using a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM), measure the resistance across the ambient air temperature sensor terminals at two different temperatures. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.
  3. Compare the readings to the specified values. Refer to Outside Air Temperature Sensor Resistance .

Are the readings within specifications?

Replace the ambient air temperature sensor. Refer to Ambient Air Temperature Gage Sensor Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Replace the driver information display module. Refer to Driver Information Center Module Replacement .

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
