Driver Information Center (DIC) Temperature Display Always Reads OC w/ Trip Computer

Does the driver information system operate normally?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect the ambient air temperature sensor connector.
  3. Connect a fused jumper to the ambient air temperature sensor connector terminal A to terminal B.

Does the display show SC?

Go to Step 4

Replace the ambient air temperature sensor. Refer to Ambient Air Temperature Gage Sensor Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Step 10

  1. Disconnect the driver information display module connector.
  2. Using the J 35616 , frontprobe the ambient air temperature sensor cavity B with the test lamp connected to the battery positive terminal.
  3. Using the J 35616 , connect cavity 10 of the driver information display module to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Repair the open or high resistance in CKT 735 (LT GRN /BLK) between the ambient air temperature sensor connector terminal B and the driver information display module connector terminal 10. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Step 10

  1. Disconnect the driver information display module connector.
  2. Using the J 35616 , frontprobe the ambient air temperature sensor cavity A with the test lamp connected to the battery positive terminal. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 9

Repair the open or excessive resistance in CKT 451 (BLK/WHT) between the ambient air temperature sensor connector terminal A and G105. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the driver information display module. Refer to Driver Information Center Module Replacement .

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect the ambient air temperature sensor connector.

  1. Disconnect the driver information display module connector.
  2. Using the J 35616 , frontprobe the ambient air temperature sensor cavity B with the test lamp connected to the battery positive terminal.
  3. Using the J 35616 , connect cavity 8 of the driver information display module connector to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the test lamp light?

Repair the open or high resistance in CKT 735 (LT GRN/BLK) between the ambient air temperature sensor connector terminal B and the driver information display module connector terminal 8. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the driver information display module connector.
  2. Using the J 35616 , frontprobe the ambient air temperature sensor cavity A with the test lamp connected to the battery positive terminal. Refer to Circuit Testing in WIring Systems.

Does the test lamp light?
