Verify that the sunroof is inoperative.

  1. Turn the ignition to RUN or ACC, with the engine OFF.
  2. Disconnect connector C2 at the sunroof module.
  3. Using a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM), measure the continuity from cavity 3 (DK/BLU) and cavity 5 (ORN) while depressing the switch in the OPEN position. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for an open, high resistance or short to ground in the ORN wire between the sunroof module and sunroof control switch. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Is an open, high resistance, or a short to ground present?

Repair the open, high resistance or short to ground in the ORN wire. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the sunroof control switch. Refer to Driver Information Center Module Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

Replace the sunroof module. Refer to Power Sunroof Module Replacement .
