Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the window to the closed position.
  2. Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  3. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
  4. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  5. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Door Water Deflector Replacement .

  7. Remove the inside door lock rod (1) from the lock assembly.
  8. Remove the inside door handle rod from the lock assembly.
  9. Remove the outside door handle rod from the lock assembly.
  10. Disconnect the power actuator wiring connector, of equipped.

  11. Object Number: 294650  Size: SH
  12. Remove the fasteners that retain the lock assembly to the door.
  13. Remove the lock assembly from the door.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the lock assembly to the door.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the fasteners that retain the lock assembly to the door.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Connect the power actuator wiring connector, if equipped.
  6. Install the outside door handle rod to the lock assembly.

  8. Install the inside door handle rod to the lock assembly.
  9. Install the inside door lock rod (1) to the lock assembly.
  10. Install the water deflector. Refer to Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  11. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  12. Connect the battery negative cable.
