When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.
The bulletin indicates that Condition #1, "Some customers may comment that the fuel gauge goes from ¼ to empty too quickly", applies to 2001 4-Door only. Condition #2, "Some customers may comment about excessive empty fuel reserve", applies to 2002 4-door only.
The updated PCM calibration for these model years is only available for the 4-door model because the fuel system and the shape of the gas tank are different for the 2-door model. Therefore, the updated PCM calibration applies to 2001 and 2002 4-door models ONLY. Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
