Important: The following service procedure should be performed with the aid of another technician.
Important: If during the removal of the transfer case the gasket becomes damaged, do not reuse the gasket. Replace the damaged gasket with a new one. DO NOT use any type of sealant in place of the gasket.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the transfer case retaining nuts to 55 N·m (40 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the transmission mount bolts to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the transmission mount retaining nuts and bolts to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the transfer case to engine bolts to 60 N·m (44 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the transfer case brace bolt to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).
