THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE WAS OMITTED AND SHOULD BE ADDED TO PAGE 2D-35 OF THE 1982 "S" SERIES TRUCK SHOP MANUAL (ST-369-82). BACK GLASS REMOVAL 1.WITH A FLAT BLADED TOOL INSERTED BETWEEN THE FLANGE AND INNER FACE OF THE RUBBER CHANNEL, CAREFULLY SEPARATE THE WEATHERSTRIP FROM THE BODY. 2.EXERT PRESSURE ONTO A CORNER OF THE WINDSHIELD UNTIL IT DISENGAGES FROM THE BODY AND THEN REMOVE THE ENTIRE BACK GLASS. 3.REMOVE THE WEATHERSTRIP FROM THE BACK GLASS. NOTICE: DO NOT STRIKE GLASS AGAINST BODY METAL. CHIPPED EDGES ON THE GLASS CAN LEAD TO FUTURE BREAKS. INSTALLATION INSTALLATION REQUIRES 2 PERSONS. CAUTION: ALWAYS WEAR GLOVES WHEN HANDLING GLASS TO AVOID PERSONAL INJURY. 1.POSITION THE GLASS INTO THE CAVITY IN THE WEATHERSTRIP. USE SOAPY WATER TO AID IN INSTALLATION. 2.INSERT A STRONG CORD INTO PINCHWELD CAVITY OF RUBBER CHANNEL COMPLETELY AROUND GLASS ASSEMBLY. INSTALL CORD OVERLAP AT BOTTOM CENTER OF GLASS, THEN TAPE ENDS TO INSIDE SURFACE OF GLASS. 3.PLACE THE BACK GLASS IN POSITION FROM OUTSIDE THE BODY. 4.WHILE A HELPER IS APPLYING PRESSURE TO OUTSIDE SURFACE OF GLASS, ON INSIDE OF BODY, GRASP BOTH ENDS OF CORD PREVIOUSLY INSERTED IN PINCHWELD CAVITY OF RUBBER CHANNEL. SLOWLY PULL ENDS OF CORDD STRAIGHT INBOARD TO SEAT INNER LIP OF RUBBER CHANNEL OVER PINCHWELD FLANGE. SEE FIGURES 1 AND 2.
