LOAD FLOOR CRACKS REINFORCEMENT PROCEDURE

IN THE EVENT 1982 S-10 PICK-UP TRUCKS DEVELOP LOAD FLOOR CRACKS NEAR THE FORWARD MOST CROSS SILL, THEY SHOULD BE REPAIRED USING TWO (2), P/N 14062362, REINFORCING BRACKETS AS DESCRIBED IN THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE. IN ADDITION, THE CRACKS SHOULD BE WELDED AND PAINTED. THE INSTALLATION REQUIRES A RIGHT ANGLE DRILL MOTOR. SUPPORT BRACKET INSTALLATION - TWO (2) REQUIRED (1) RAISE VEHICLE ON HOIST. (2) HOLD BRACKET AGAINST THE REAR FACE OF BOX FLANGE. A.HOLD BRACKET TIGHT AGAINST FRAME. B.ALIGN CLEARANCE NOTCHES ON BRACKET WITH TABS ON BOX. THERE IS ONLY ONE (1) TAB PER SIDE. (3) DRILL PILOT HOLE (ONE-EIGHTH OF AN INCH OR 3MM) IN BOX USING BRACKET AS TEMPLATE. (4) REMOVE BRACKET AND DRILL HOLES TO 7.0MM. (5) BOLT BRACKET TO BOX USING NUTS AND SCREWS SHOWN. TIGHTEN TO 8-11 N.M. (6) DRILL PILOT HOLE IN FRAME. THIS WILL HAVE TO BE VISUALLY LOCATED. ENLARGE HOLE TO 9MM. (7) INSTALL NUT AND SCREW. TIGHTEN TO 20-34 N.M. LABOR OPERATION NUMBER: T0074 LABOR TIME: .5 HOURS
