ROOF LUGGAGE RACK INSTALLATION

MODELS: 1989-1990 M/L VANS-STANDARD AND EXTENDED LENGTHS WITH RPO V54 (ROOF LUGGAGE RACK)

When installing Option V54 (roof luggage rack) on the above subject vehicles the RH center support roof hole has been deleted on the standard length vans. Four center support roof holes have been deleted on the extended vans.

These holes have been deleted to prevent interference with the seat belt assemblies on the middle seat on the standard length vans and to keep all attaching locations behind the roof bows on extended vans.

DO NOT drill additional holes in the vehicle roofs. Follow the installation instructions dated June 30, 1989 provided with the luggage rack and use screws provided in the subject center support luggage rack holes.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
