800 PHONE# FOR DEALERS TO REPORT QUALITY CONCERNS

MODELS: 1990 M/L VANS

THIS BULLETIN CANCELS AND REPLACES TRUCK SERVICE BULLETIN 90-OA-15 DATED NOVEMBER, 1990 TO REVISE THE DATE AND OPERATING TIMES FOR THE 800 NUMBER. ALL COPIES OF 90-OA-15 SHOULD BE DISCARDED.

The 1990 M/L vans will incorporate several new features:

1. A new instrument panel 2. A new air conditioning system. 3. Four-wheel anti-lock brakes. 4. Extended Van 5. All Wheel Drive (L Van)

To enhance our opportunity to ensure customer satisfaction, as well as monitor the quality of the new features, an early problem feedback system has been established. A toll-free 800 number (1-800-628-8774) has been installed at the Baltimore assembly plant for dealer feedback. Dealers are encouraged to use this 800 number as early as the pre-delivery inspection to report on any condition observed or experienced with the new features. This number will be in effect from September 1, 1989 through July 15, 1990.

The phone number will be manned from 6:30 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. EST, Monday - Friday. This number is intended for dealers only and concerns should be limited to the 1990 model equipped with the new features.

At the time of your call, we ask that the dealership have a complete repair order on hand including the following information:

*VIN Number *Dealer Code *Dealer Name *Dealer Contact Person *Dealer Phone Number *What was the customer's specific complaint? *What was done to correct the problem? *Labor & Trouble Codes Used

The 800 number is intended to gather valuable and timely information that will enable us to quickly identify and correct those conditions which may affect our customer's satisfaction. The number is not intended to provide parts assistance or repair information. Problems encountered in those areas should continue to be pursued through normal channels such as the Technical Assistance Network or an assigned dealer contact representative.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
