SOME OWNERS MAY EXPERIENCE THE REAR END GATE WINDOW OPENING WITHOUT THE ACTIVATION OF THE WINDOW RELEASE BUTTON ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, OR FIND THE WINDOW TO BE INOPERATIVE UPON ACTIVATING THE WINDOW RELEASE BUTTON. THE OWNER MAY ALSO OBSERVE THE RADIO ON AFTER THE IGNITION KEY IS OFF.
THESE CONDITIONS HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO BE CAUSED BY MOISTURE INTRUSION RESULTING IN CORROSION OF THE CONNECTOR (C300) AT THE FOOT OF THE A PILLAR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE.
DETERMINE SOURCE OF MOISTURE AND INSTALL PROPER SEAL TO PREVENT RECURRENCE OF MOISTURE INTRUSION. REPLACE CONNECTORS (P/N 12101852 AND 12101854) AND REPLACE TERMINALS (P/N 12048074) IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DRIVEABILITY, EMISSIONS AND ELECTRICAL DIAGNOSIS MANUAL, SECTION 8A-2. USE SILICONE GREASE ON NEW TERMINALS TO PREVENT CORROSION. LABEL WIRES PRIOR TO REPLACEMENT OF CONNECTORS TO ASSURE PROPER LOCATION IN NEW CONNECTORS.
