Disassembly Procedure


    Object Number: 580317  Size: SH
  1. Drain the oil from the reservoir (1).
  2. Remove the connector and fitting assembly (2).
  3. Remove the control valve assembly (4) from the pump housing (1). Make sure the flow control spring (5) does not fall out of the pump housing (1).
  4. Remove and discard the o-ring seal (3) from the conector and fitting assembly (2).

Assembly Procedure

  1. Install the flow control spring (5), if removed from the pump housing (1).
  2. Lubricate the new o-ring seal (3) with power steering fluid.
  3. Install the o-ring seal (3) onto the connector and fitting assembly (2).
  4. Install the control valve assembly (4).
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the connector and fitting assembly (2).
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the connector and fitting assembly to 75 N·m (55 lb ft).
