J 23653-SIR Lock Plate Compressor

1. Install the steering column housing assembly onto the steering column housing jacket secured by 4 TORX® screws.

Tightens
Tighten the screws to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).




2. Install the thrust washer (3).
3. Install the upper bearing spring (2).
4. Install the turn signal cancel cam assembly (1) and lubricate with synthetic grease.



5. Align the race and upper shaft assembly to the 12 o'clock position.



6. Install the shaft lock shield assembly.



7. Install the retaining ring using the J 23653-SIR .
8. Install the SIR coil assembly. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
