Removal Procedure

If door lock cylinders require replacement for any reason, apply a coating of lubricant GM P/N 12346241 or equivalent to the inside of the lock case and the cylinder keyway prior to assembling and installing the cylinder. In order to code a new lock cylinder, refer to Key and Lock Cylinder Coding in General Information.

  1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  3. Remove the lock rod from the lock cylinder (3).
  4. Remove the lock rod retainer (1).

  6. Remove the lock cylinder and gasket (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 324175  Size: SH
  1. Install the lock cylinder and gasket to the door (2).
  2. Install the lock cylinder retainer (1).
  3. Use GM P/N 12345996 High Temperature Water Resistant Lubricant or equivalent in order to lubricate the lock rods and the lock rod guide.
  4. Install the lock rod to lock cylinder (3).
  5. Install the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  6. Install the trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement .
