Removal Procedure

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Relieve fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure .

  3. Object Number: 420635  Size: SH
  4. Remove the fuel feed pipe nuts (1) from both sides of the fuel filter.

  5. Object Number: 421945  Size: SH
  6. Remove the fuel filter clamp bolt (1).

  7. Object Number: 421946  Size: SH
  8. Remove the filter (4) and the clamp (3) from fuel lines.
  9. Remove the clamp from the fuel filter.

Installation Procedure

Install the clamp onto the fuel filter.


    Object Number: 421946  Size: SH

    Important: Be sure to install the fuel filter with the embossed arrow pointing in the direction of fuel flow.

  1. Install the fuel filter (4) and clamp (3) to the fuel pipe.

  2. Object Number: 421945  Size: SH
  3. Install the clamp bolt (1).

  4. Object Number: 420635  Size: SH
  5. Install the fuel feed pipe nuts (1).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel feed pipe nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
  8. Check for leaks.
